Onewheel Chargers

Onewheel Chargers

Onewheels have excellent battery capacities, but at some point, they also get drained. This is why every Onewheel comes with a charger produced specifically for it. Using the right charger for your Onewheel is important, as the wrong charger can damage the battery life of your Onewheel. Here we will discuss the best type of chargers for onewheel boards, and where you can get them.

Best Type of Charger for Onewheels

There are several models of Onewheel boards. The four main types are;

  • Onewheel Pint
  • Onewheel Pint X
  • Onewheel XR
  • Onewheel GT

Onewheel batteries are made from Nickel Manganese Cobalt Oxide (NMC). Each of these wheels has a specific battery capacity, and this determines to a large extent, the kind of charger that can be used to power it. The battery capacity will determine the battery range, and hence the charge time. Here is a table showing some specifications of the battery of the different Onewheel boards.

The Ultracharger is the best for Onewheel + boards, while the XR charger is best for Onewheel XR models. Both chargers function well on 110 -240V. While these chargers come together with the boards, some riders might go in search of new chargers, for two possible reasons;

  • The original board charger goes bad.
  • The hoverboard owner desires a faster charge rate.

This brings the question; are there aftermarket chargers? Yes, there are. Some manufacturers have produced fast chargers that can serve as replacements for all models of Onewheel boards.

Available Onewheel Chargers

  1. The Onewheel XR home charger costs 150 Euros. It charges a Onewheel completely within two hours. It comes with an EU plug.
  2. The ChiBatterySystems Fast Charger for Onewheel costs $130. It is compatible with the Onewheel Pint, Onewheel Pint X, and the Onewheel + XR. It is said to be almost two times faster than the stock charger. It has an AC input of 110V – 120V.
  3. The XR Home Charger costs $110. It is multi-voltage and charges for about 110 minutes. It is portable and can be easily carried around.

Charger Plugs

Charger plugs serve as protective layers for the chargers. They ensure that dust and dirt do not get into the charge port. They are small and fanciful but are quite useful in preserving the lifespan of the charge port. Most chargers do not come with plugs, but they can easily be ordered online and bought as an extension.

Onewheel charger plugs are very affordable and can be bought from online stores like Amazon. You can also find them on the Boarder Labs. They cost anywhere within $6 – $20 depending on the size and amount you want.

In summary, when trying to buy a Onewheel Charger, you should buy the most suitable charger for your board. Fast chargers are more likely to reduce battery life in the long run, so stock chargers should only be used as a backup, or when you require emergency charging on the go.

Several Onewheel chargers are available at Amazon and can be delivered to you in your location.
