Onewheel Price

When it comes to personal transportation, there are a lot of options on the market. In 2015, Future Motion unveiled the OneWheel: a self-balancing electric skateboard with only one wheel.

Of course, this new and exciting way to get around generated a lot of buzz, and a bunch of questions. The most common being ‘how much does a OneWheel cost?’ followed by, ‘why is the OneWheel price so expensive?!”

The answer is not as simple as it may seem at first. The price of a OneWheel depends on several factors, including which model you choose and whether you decide to go for an off-brand alternative.

Why Are OneWheels So Expensive?

Nowadays, we are spoiled with over-produced and low-cost products. When we are presented with something like the OneWheel, which is undoubtedly an investment piece, we are quick to question why it is priced so high.

Quality products often come with a higher price tag. Better quality materials, top-end tech, and a thoughtful manufacturing process all add up. OneWheels are carefully assembled by hand in the USA, which is something to note if you have been considering buying a cheaper alternative.

Mid-Range Price: OneWheel Pint X

OneWheel price: $1400 Tax: $131.25 Total: $1531.25

The OneWheel Pint X is the go-to board for many riders, as it is the best of two popular models. The Pint X is known as a cross between the OneWheel XR and the OneWheel Pint, as it provides the best features of these models on one board.

For reference, the OneWheel XR, which was originally featured on all OneWheel commercials, has since been discontinued by Future Motion and replaced by two newer models (Pint X and GT).

The Pint X can go at speeds of up to 18mph and has a range of 12-18 miles, which is the same range the XR provided. This range is also double what the original OneWheel Pint model offered, while still being smaller and lighter than the XR.

The Pint X offers everything most riders look for, it works well for general commuters and those that go offroad, with an average OneWheel price point.

Most Expensive Option: OneWheel GT

OneWheel price: $2200 Tax: $206.25 Total: $2406.25

The newer flagship board, the OneWheel GT is a performance-driven beast when compared to the other models. Providing more than any other board has ever offered, these added features come with the highest OneWheel cost.

The OneWheel GT is for the thrill-seekers among us. With speeds up to 20 mph, although some riders have reported it can go much faster, the OneWheel GT is the fastest board you can currently buy.

Offering an overall range of 20-32 miles on any one charge, along with many additional features, these factors go to show why the GT has the highest OneWheel price.

Cheapest Model: OneWheel Pint

OneWheel price: $1050 Tax: $98.45 Total: $1148.45

The OneWheel Pint is a small but mighty board, aimed at those looking for an easy and convenient way to get around town. Weighing in at only 23 pounds, the OneWheel Pint is the lightest OneWheel on the market.

Despite its small size, the OneWheel Pint has a range of 6-8 miles and can reach speeds of up to 16 mph. These stats are lower than the more expensive models which shows us why it has the cheapest OneWheel price.

While the Pint is the most affordable OneWheel and the overall speed/range is lower than its more expensive counterparts, the Pint is still a great board to have the OneWheel riding experience with.

Perfect for beginners and riders who are looking for an easier option to get around, the OneWheel Pint is a great board at a more budget-friendly OneWheel price.

Shipping Costs

If purchasing directly from the OneWheel website, you can get free ground shipping for orders of $100 (US Lower 48).

International shipping varies between $175-$250 depending on the model and your location, so if you are overseas you are best finding a local approved dealer to save on shipping fees.

Spreading The Cost

The OneWheel website does allow you to spread the cost of your purchase using Klarna which is a monthly payment service.

Monthly prices start from $78pm for OneWheel Pint X, $58pm for OneWheel Pint, and $92pm for OneWheel GT. This could be a good option for some buyers, but you need to ensure you can make the monthly payments before going ahead.

Please note that eligibility for this method is decided by Klarna and not Future Motion.

OneWheel Alternatives

If you are still put off by the OneWheel cost, there are alternatives on the market that you could consider.

The price for a OneWheel alternative varies between models, with the most popular dupes ranging from $449- $970. This price range is certainly lower than even the most affordable OneWheel price, but at what cost?

When considering an off-brand board, you must be careful as you could end up with a lower quality and less safe product.

There are certain considerations to make when purchasing a OneWheel alternative, such as whether you are buying from a trustworthy source, and if the board even compares to a OneWheel in terms of specs and quality materials.

OneWheel Price: Do You Think It Is Worth It?

While the three current OneWheel models are available at different prices, and with varying features, they all deliver the unique OneWheel riding experience.

Whether you are willing to pay the OneWheel price is personal preference, some riders feel it is worth it for the product quality and experience you receive, while others find the OneWheel cost too high.

If you are looking for a more budget-friendly alternative, be sure to do your research to avoid ending up with a lower-quality product that could be dangerous to ride. When it comes to the OneWheel price, what do you think? Is it worth it or too expensive for your taste? Let us know in the comments below!
